- Abstract
The article considers depictions of English Queen Anne Boleyn, second wife of King Henry VIII, in historical fiction novels including "The Other Boleyn Girl," by Philippa Gregory; "Wolf Hall," by Hilary Mantel; and "Anne Boleyn: A King’s Obsession," by Alison Weir. Topics considered include Anne's role in bring about the English Reformation, female agency in the late Plantagenet and early Tudor periods, and historical tropes depicting Anne as either a witch or b##ch.
