- Abstract
The article presents the Chapter XI of the book "Year's Work in English Studies" which discusses the works regarding the 18th century tourism and literature in Scotland. It highlights the explanation of John Glendening on the existence of modern tourism in England, the effect of romanticism in tourism, and the perception for visits in Scotland. It says that the increase of romantic views for Scotland encouraged self-expression and self-construction, wherein Glendening carefully analysed the shift for domestic tourism.
