- Title
The Shrinkage of Textiles in Drycleaning.
- Authors
Rhodes, W. K.
- Abstract
The relationship between drycteaning and shrinkage has been studied in some detail by the Dyers & Cleaners Research Organization in Harrogate, England. The study reveals that shrink- age can occur in drycleaning as a result of the relaxation of the fabric in the cleaning process itself, and even more significantly in the subsequent steam pressing. An understanding of the factors involved and closer Control over both cleaning and pressing techniques can reduce this minimal shrinkage even further.
