Identity Crisis Dr. Munawar Aziz MCPS*.
- Abstract
This article discusses the identity crisis faced by young Pakistanis who have returned from living in Dubai. The author shares two examples of individuals who are struggling with their sense of identity after returning to Pakistan. The article highlights the unique cultural landscape of Dubai, which blends Western modernity with Middle Eastern traditions, and how this can shape the experiences of the younger generation. The author emphasizes the need for recognition, empathy, and proactive measures to address this complex issue. The article also mentions that the identity crisis is not limited to Pakistani families in the Middle East, but also affects those living in other developed countries. The author concludes by suggesting that psychotherapy, family support, and educational institutions can help address the psychological problems faced by the younger generation.
