- Abstract
The article discusses significant contributions of Honorary Penitentiary Commission (HPC) member Laura Conner to prison reform in Arkansas in the 1920s. Topics explored include the collaboration between HPC and the American Prisoners' Welfare Association (APWA) on improving Arkansas prisons, the need to improve Christian presence through the introduction of Bible studies in prisons according to Conner, and the humanitarian efforts demonstrated by Conner during the reform process.
