Sustaining balanced fluidics key to successful small-incision surgeries.
- Authors
Misiano, John
- Abstract
The article discusses on the importance of maintaining fluid balance during phacoemulsification. According to doctor Uday Devgan, the key to having safe and efficient surgery is achieving fluidic harmony and balance. It states that in fluidic balance, inflow of fluid is always greater than outflow which is important for the reason that greater inflow does not cause any surge, which is indicative of collapsed anterior chamber and instability of intraocular structures and could lead to posterior capsule rupture.
