- Abstract
The article discusses the highly selective production of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) using fluidized bed catalytic chemical vapor deposition. The involvement of ethylene deposited on Fe/Al2O3 catalysts is noted. The influence of several operating parameters, including deposition duration, temperature, and ethylene and hydrogen partial pressures, is mentioned. Also discussed is the detection of methane and ethane through the use of gas phase chromatography, as well as the observation that no catalytic deactivation occurs between the temperatures of 650 and 750 degrees Celsius.
