- Abstract
The article investigates the first case of notoedric mange caused by Notoedres cati (N cati) in an African pygmy hedgehog. The one-year-old African pygmy hedgehog bred in Germany and owned by a pet trader had a large crust formation on its head and was consulted to the veterinarian immediately. Physical examination conducted in the hedgehog revealed that it is in good condition. Through dermatological examination, a massive crust formations on the head, carpal and pad region were seen revealing the presence of N cati.
