- Abstract
The article focuses on the proposed Animal Welfare Bill in Great Britain. According to Margaret Beckett, Secretary of State at the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, the proposed legislation seeks to consolidate and modernize a number of laws governing the welfare of the domestic and captive animals. The legislation would also ban mutilations with certain exemptions.
