- Title
What could an Executive Coach do for an Association Football Manager?
- Authors
Gerrard, Bill
- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the difficulties faced by Manchester United football manager Roy Keane and the role of executive coaching. He argues that while executive coaching has a possible contribution to improve the effectiveness of leader-coaches, it will do little to overcome the difficulties of football player turned manager who has insufficient managerial experience. He further contends that being a successful player is no guarantee of managerial success.
