- Abstract
This paper presents a control method about solid abrasives high-speed lapping and lapping speed control technology by controlling the relative motion between the lapping tool and the workpiece speed, which can improve accuracy and efficiency in the whole process. With the help of information processing capability of the computer and program, this paper proposes an efficient method to achieve the variable speed control for the high-speed lapping machine through the serial-port communication between the inverter and the high-speed lapping machine. Though several rounds of experimental demonstration, we presented a scheme that the speed of abrasive tools should be controlled in the starting and ending periods of lapping to make sure that it runs at a slow-quick-slow acceleration and deceleration process. To great degree, it will reduce the impact between abrasive tools and the surface of the workpiece and meanwhile avoid the scratches on the surface to improve the processing precision and efficiency.
