- Abstract
The article presents information on a study which assessed the expression of the stem cell marker CD133 in 37 paired glioblastoma patients following the administration of adjuvant radiochemotherapy. Methods utilized included immunohistochemistry, fluorescence-associated cell sorting (FACS) and interphase fluorescence in situ hybridization. It discusses the findings of the study including the relation of increased CD133 expression in recurrent glioblastoma to patient survival and the heterogenous nature of the CD133-positive cell population.
