- Abstract
The article analysis the contribution of community changes facilitated by a community health initiative to prevent adolescent pregnancy to the population-level outcome of birth rates for teenagers. It examines the link between intermediate outcomes such as community change and more distant population-level outcomes. The study found significant reductions in birth rates in the area where there was a greater concentration of community changes and slight increase in places with fewer changes. Several recommendations for research and practice base on the analysis of community change contribution in preventing adolescent pregnancy are included.
