- Title
Inside the quantum Hall effect.
- Authors
Ketterle, Wolfgang
- Abstract
The author comments on a research on the quantum Hall effect in ultracold atoms and wavefunction dynamics in the quantum Hall regime by M. Aidelsburger and other. He mentions that neutral atoms can be used as quantum simulators for electrons in a strong magnetic field to study the physics of charged particles. Topics discussed include quasioscillations and the Brillouin zone, the action of Lorentz force in oscillations, and Bloch oscillations of non-interacting particles in a perfect lattice.
