The article discusses a campaign against India’s intellectual property rights (IPR) regime launched by the U.S. office of the Trade Representative (USTR). Topics include the USTR's concern about India's enforcement of intellectual property (IP) protection, U.S. lobbyists' dislike of India's use of compulsory licensing provisions, which permit authorities to waive the patent rights for a cancer drug, and India's Trace and Track mechanism of its pharmaceutical products.
