- Title
Renewables will not fill energy gap.
- Abstract
The article reports that the development of renewable sources cannot solve the energy shortages, according to the report produced by energy consultants-Fells Associates. The reports states that Great Britain's proposed nuclear new-build program must begin so that a new plant can be online by 2018. It notes that nuclear power will have to provide the largest share of carbon dioxide-free electricity for reasons of both security of supply and cost. Ian Fells, one of the report's authors, says that governments have failed to form a coherent, realistic and structured energy policy for the country.
