- Abstract
This article presents a case study of a 48-year-old woman with bronchiectasis who developed a fungal infection called pulmonary pseudallescheriasis. The infection was caused by a fungus called Pseudallescheria boydii. The patient was also diagnosed with a chronic Mycobacterium abscessus infection. Treatment involved antifungal medication and monitoring of drug levels. Surgical removal of the infection was not possible due to the patient's underlying lung disease. The prognosis for this condition is generally poor, and healthcare providers should be aware of it, particularly in patients with structural lung disease.
