The article focuses on the integration of woven fabrics in three-dimensional (3D) printed elements in the form of fibers, yarns, or woven fabrics, similar to fiber-reinforced composites. It mentions that mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced composites are typically tested by a bending test. It also mentions that embedding the woven fabrics enables a lateral shift between the upper and the lower layers as the single carbon fibers are not fixed in a closed matrix.
