- Abstract
Texturizing is the process by which synthetic fibers are modified to change their physical properties. The change in the physical properties of filament yarn depends on the various machine parameters used during texturizing process. In this article, effect of texturizing speed, draw ratio, disc to yarn ratio and heater temperature on physical properties of 250/48 denier partially oriented polyester filament yarn was studied. It is found that, elongation reduces and tenacity rises as increase in the texturizing speed, draw ratio and disc to yarn ratio. Whereas increase in the primary and secondary heater temperature, both elongation and tenacity of the texturized yarn increases. Also increase in the elongation helps to achieve better shade of dye in Tube Knit Dyed (TKD) sample.
