- Abstract
The article presents information on the book "Law and the Farmer," by Jacob H. Beuscher. Law and the Farmer is the first book of its kind to be published in this country. Its author, Professor of Law and of Farm Law at the University of Wisconsin, has specialized in legal questions that most frequently perplex farmers and farm advisers. He is probably the best qualified person in this country to write on the legal aspects of agriculture, with particular regard to the farmer and his legal problems. This book deals with just about every conceivable legal problem that any farmer will ever be faced with. Many of the situations dealt with in this book will be familiar to any farmer. In general, farmers are ignorant of laws and how they work; this ignorance leads continually to costly mistakes that can be settled only in the court. It is difficult to believe that the legal problems confronting the farmer could be presented so simply and so interestingly. This book fills a long felt need and undoubtedly will be well received by those for whom it is written.
