- Abstract
The article examines the legend of Saint Cecilia who is associated with a musical tradition. Several literature on Saint Cecilia are explored which includes "The Second Nun's Tale" by Geoffrey Chaucer as well as the issues faced by historians in determining whether her legend is true or fictional. Other topics include the opera "Cecilia" composed by Licinio Refice, Saint Cecilia's importance to authors, and the reasons that made her patron saint of music.
