The author celebrates the 25th anniversary of "Behavioral Ecology," the flagship journal of the International Society for Behavioral Ecology (ISBE). A background of the origins and goals of ISBE is presented. An overview of the past articles published in "Behavioral Ecology" is provided to demonstrate how research interests have changed. The author discusses the articles from the journal which received the most number of citations.
