The article focuses on the marine genus of flightless chironomid insect Pontomyia. It states that the insect were observed on the ocean surface with distinct species such as the P. natans, P. pacifica, and P. oceana. An overview on the masses observed across the coast as well as the seagrass and algal species, is also emphasized.
