- Abstract
The article offers information on the extensive bleaching of coral reef found at Lord Howe Island (LHI) in New South Wales. It states that the first widespread coral bleaching in LHI happened in 1998 during the austral summer season when sea temperatures were at 27 degrees Celsius. It mentions that in March 2010, bleached coral at Sylph's Hole and Comet's Hole lagoon was over 90%. It says that the rise in sea temperatures is the cause of such coral bleaching.
