- Abstract
The article discusses the decline in middle skill jobs resulting to job polarization. It states that job polarization, while not well understood, has been attributed to technology advances, overseas job outsourcing, and contractions in the manufacturing industry. It elaborates on the structural changes in the labor market as a result of job polarization. It also expounds on the responses of workers to job polarization which vary based on their gender, education and age.
