- Abstract
The article focuses on the results of a study on the use of intraligamentary dental anesthesia and the gingival crevicular fluid response to it. The use of a supplementary injection comes into play when dental procedures get complicated due to incomplete local anesthesia. The use of one of these supplementary injections, periodontal ligament injection has a potential tissue damage risk, which the study tries to find out. After having injected the mandibular first premolars of 22 subjects with various solutions and recording their inflammatory and pain responses, it was found that the intraligamentary injection is an excellent technique to produce anesthesia with insignificant patient discomfort.
