- Authors
Krueger, Courtney
- Abstract
The author reflects on the religious liberty in the U.S. She believes that the faith, conviction, and determination of Americans are stronger than the communists and Americans can compete with them in terms of ideas. She recounts that in 1612, Thomas Helwys, one of the first Baptists, wrote that King James should not do anything to prevent individuals from exercising their faith. She stresses that religious liberty holds two great ideals, that for faith to be true and genuine, there must be freedom for religion and the freedom from religion.
