A Fair Economic and Trade Settlement.
- Authors
Eljafari, Mahmoud K.
- Abstract
The article discusses the quasi-custom unions, a free mobility from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (WBGS) to Israel. It is said that at one side, it is a flexible merchandise and service trade flows from Israel to Palestine markets, while on the other, it was viewed as the main pillars of Israel-Palestine trade. However, it was found that the trade between unequal partners does not enable efficiency gains, technology transfer or growth. Moreover, it is believed that the signing of the Paris Protocol (PP) between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the government of Israel, had a minimal impact both on reshaping economic and trade relations.
