- Abstract
The article informs that beyond the immediate impact of the net amount of immune suppression present at any given time, an additional potential consequence of exposure to these medications is the interruption of the natural immune maturation process particularly when exposure occurs early in life. Many questions remain regarding the complex interaction of bacterial pathogens and vaccine antigen processing in a host whose immune functions and maturation cycle are impaired by immunosuppressive medications.
