- Abstract
This article, published in the journal Histopathology, discusses the rapid development of pseudo-ground-glass (PGG) bodies in liver transplants. PGG inclusions in hepatocytes are a distinctive morphological phenomenon associated with various underlying pathologies. The article presents two cases of liver transplant patients who developed PGG inclusions over time. The authors suggest that PGG in liver transplants are a rare manifestation of medically induced secondary glycogen storage, potentially caused by interference with glycogen synthesis and degradation. The presence of PGG does not appear to have significant pathological effects in terms of inflammation, fibrosis, and steatosis.
