- Abstract
At present, the shortage of agricultural water resources is worsening. In order to reduce the rice irrigation water and improve the utilization of fertilizers so as to achieve the high and stable yielding of rice, this report reviewed the research advances in water and fertilizer coupling, the conception of water and fertilizer coupling and its three kinds of effects (synergy, antagonism, superposition), mechanism of water and fertilizer coupling, effects of water and fertilizer coupling on growth, development, yield and quality of rice and effects of water and fertilizer coupling on utilization rate of nitrogen in rice. In addition, the development prospects of water and fertilizer coupling in China were described. It was proposed that the water and fertilizer coupling mode is an effective measure to achieve the high yield and quality of rice. According to actual demand, referring to the ideas of promoting fertilizer with water and regulating water with fertilizer, reasonable water and fertilizer coupling mode can be established, thereby improving the utilization efficiencies of water and fertilizer. In the premise of saving irrigation water and no increasing fertilization amount, both high yielding and less pollution can be achieved, providing theoretical and technical basis for water-saving agriculture and cultivation and management of rice in future.
