- Title
Fragile X Therapy Probed.
- Abstract
The article announces the launch of a preliminary clinical trial to assess a drug for treating fragile X syndrome in December 2009. The trial received funding from several organizations, including the National Institute of Mental Health and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The existence of mutations in the fragile X mental retardation gene in individuals with fragile X syndrome has been revealed by previous studies. The safety and tolerability of an mGluR5 antagonist, STX107, will be assessed.
