- Abstract
The article discusses researcher seeking to determine if a care model combining Internet service blood pressure (BP) monitoring and pharmacist-assisted care improves BP regulation in patients with hypertension. The design and setting of the study which involved 778 patients with uncontrolled essential hypertension and web site training are detailed. The outcomes measured include percentage of patients with controlled BP and changes in systolic and diastolic BP over 1-year. Researchers conclude that patients assigned BP monitoring and web service with pharmacist care management had significant improvements in BP control.
