- Abstract
This article focuses on a report from the World Health Organization concerning the road accident fatalities worldwide. Traffic injuries are the leading cause of death in young people between the ages of 10 and 24 years. Nearly half a million children in this age group are killed each year and millions more are injured. Most of the fatalities are in low-income and middle-income countries according to the report. Most of the people killed were pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists and public transit riders. The agency suggests a number of measures to address the problem.
