Preface to Song of the Grieving Father.
- Authors
Stepakoff, Shanee
- Abstract
The article offers criticism of the poem "Song of the Grieving Father." The author reveals that the poem was directly taken from the testimonies of the officials and public transcripts of the war crimes tribunal in Sierra Leone. The author notes that the poem uses the war victim's own language, and hopes to express the unsaid, grief, and anguish that were among the most enduring legacies of war.
