- Abstract
The present work joins the efforts to try to complete the historical memory of Psychodrama in Cuba, addressing its origins. The three great moments of this research are presented: the discovery of early links between Jacob Levy Moreno and Cuban professionals and researchers and their first visit to Cuba. The second, an attempt to reconnect the relations between psychodramatists and Cuban and United States institutions, including a remarkable fact the meeting that one of the authors managed to hold with Zerka T. Moreno. The third moment, the review and processing of Moreno's files on Cuba, to which the authors could have access. The history of Psychodrama in Cuba is marked by the origins of the relations between Cuba and the United States. The ties with its creator date back to the 1950s and are strengthened by the ties established by Jose Angel Bustamante y Moreno, who visited our country twice in 1960 and was named Honorary President of the Cuban Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama. The rupture of relations between the two countries restricts Psychodrama's development in Cuba, undoubtedly one of the pioneering countries of this experience in Latin America.
