- Abstract
The article presents a case report of rituximab-induced long-term remission in two children with therapy-resistant systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disorder which can affect every organ. The morbidity and mortality of children with SLE improvements in the treatment of this disease have been significantly reduced over the past 10 years. Rituximab is a genetically engineered human monoclonal antibody that binds to the cell-surface marker CD20.
