- Abstract
The present research starts from the following questions: Is the interdisciplinarity of science projects different from the interdisciplinarity of arts & humanities projects? Can the indicators of interdisciplinary science projects be correlated with the indicators of interdisciplinary arts & humanities projects? What are the most pertinent indicators for interdisciplinary humanities? If there are such indicators, can they be considered within a scalar framework of analysis? The first part of the article discuses thus the types of interdisciplinarity that have been discriminated so far in the literature, stressing the tension between disciplinary and inter-/ trans-/ multi-disciplinary approaches. The second part lists the main qualitative and quantitative indicators of interdisciplinary projects and provides the reader with a critical view on their pertinence for arts and humanities field. The third is an application of two such indicators (epistemological integration and lexical expansion) on a corpus of 296 keywords extracted from the "literary" articles (that is, centred on literary issues) published in three books of proceedings delivered in the aftermath of an interdisciplinary conference organized by "Alexandru loan Cuza" University of Iaşi between 2014 and 2016.
