- Abstract
A literary criticism of the autobiography "Red Dust Road," by Jackie Kay, Kay's poetry collection "The Adoption Papers," and the autobiographical essay "Born Again Indian: A Story of Self-Discovery of a Red-Black Woman and Her People" by Dorothy Mills-Proctor in volume 22, issue 1 of the journal "Kola" is presented. Differing experiences of Black Scots and Black Canadians in relation to racialization are addressed. The Native and Black ancestry of Mills-Proctor is addressed.
