- Abstract
Mythic aspects in media discourse have been of great academic interest for the last decades especially because of the importance given to the interdisciplinary studies which could offer pertinent answers to questions related to narrativity, semiotics, mythology, anthropology, and their applicability in the analysis of media field. The present research on the mythological dimension of media discourse refers especially to those catastrophic events in which the news reports lay out emotion over reflection, by employing some dichotomic narrative and characterization strategies.
