- Abstract
This article explores the concept of reshoring in supply chain management and its potential benefits. Reshoring involves bringing production closer to home or neighboring countries to enhance resilience, reduce risk, and improve sustainability. The article emphasizes the role of digital transformation and Industry 5.0 technologies in managing dispersed production facilities. It also discusses the shift towards a more glocal approach to supply chain management, balancing global efficiency with local adaptability. Reshoring is seen as a catalyst for environmental sustainability, job creation, economic growth, and community resilience. It contributes to national security by reducing dependence on foreign suppliers in critical industries. Overall, reshoring is viewed as a multi-faceted approach to strengthening national security, promoting resilience, and ensuring long-term success in the global marketplace.
