Socrates partially embodies one element of Christian philosophy as articulated by Paul Moser in his paper "Christ-Shaped Philosophy: Wisdom and Spirit United," namely, life in submission to divine authority out of a recognition that disobedience to God inflicts grave moral self-harm. The practice of Socratic philosophy models a way of doing philosophy as an expression of love, the essential motive of proper Christian philosophy.
