- Abstract
This essay tackles the dehumanisation and demonisation of immigrants as depicted in director Denis Villeneuve's science fiction film "Blade Runner 2049." Topics discussed are geopolitical allegorical recoding of the replicants in the film including the racism and intolerance in the policies of the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and slavery and the struggle for survival, and the transformation of the identity of the replicants who represent modern industrial laborers.
