- Abstract
The article presents an archeological study on the Buddhist scepter from Krasnovayarovo fortified settlement. It states that scepter was made of bronze which is 21.5 cm long with lion's heads on both ends of the scepter and horned dragons in the opposite side of the rod. The scepter is called vajra which means thunderous scepter of Indra or Indian Zeus. It notes such scepters were given to a guardian who stood at the entrance of Buddhist temples who uses it to drive away evil spirits. It mentions that lions represent as the protector of the law and guardian of sacred temples while dragons as protector against evil spirits. An image of the Buddhist scepter is also presented.
