- Abstract
The article discusses the stories of the matriarchs, Hagar, Leah and Rachel, found in the book of Genesis in the Old Testament of the Bible. The author believes that the stories of women in the Bible usually represent the marginalized in society. Parallelisms on the stories of Hagar and Abraham are presented while contrasting stories of Leah and Rachel are narrated. The author believes that the stories of Hagar and Leah show the involvement of God in the lives of the rejected and the outcasts.
