The article focuses on the challenges faced by suicidal prisoners and the U.S Constitution Eighth Amendment that prohibits cruel and unusual punishment and reduces prisoner suicide in the U.S. Topics discussed include suicidal prevention measures, the U.S Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Plata that dealt with the mistreatment of mentally ill prisoners in prison overcrowding issues, and risk of lawsuit from inmate suicide.
