- Abstract
The article focuses on the pathway of accessing the family courts to obtain parenting orders for Indigenous children. It mentions Indigenous access to justice with the use of family law by Indigenous litigants and parenting orders made by family courts may preempt and mitigate the need for child protection intervention. It also mentions issues relating to marriage, divorce and matrimonial causes, associated parental rights and the custody and guardianship of children.
