- Abstract
The article presents and discusses annotations to a copy of the 1710 book "The Tryal of Dr Henry Sacheverell," by Jacob Tonson, held by the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, which forms an account of the trial of English High Church clergyman and politician Henry Sacheverell following his delivery of controversial sermons. It consider the annotator's whig political leanings and sympathies for religious dissent. The image of Sacheverell as a trumpeter is also analyzed.
