- Abstract
The article focuses on historiographical method and the interpretation of Victorian Conservatism and Edwardian popular politics in Great Britain. The author discusses mass politics, electorial dominance, and popular support for conservatives and tories among working-class constituents. It also underlines some determination of the Conservative Party to incorporate democratization. Other topics include the role of empire in Victorian Britain, electoral liabilities, and narratives of political transformation.
