- Abstract
The article looks at the challenges associated with the identification of counterfeit electronic parts and discusses the reasons why the U.S. defense supply chain is vulnerable to counterfeit infiltration. Topics discussed include shortcomings in the U.S. legislative structure to combat counterfeit electronics trade, electronic-waste transformation into counterfeit electronics, and a ban on the export of electronic waste from the U.S. under the Responsible Electronics Recycling Act.
